Plays for children to perform
114. An angel cameMark lay on the rug. An exciting book held his interest. (sound of a doorbell) Mark: "Who is at the door this time?" (sound of door opening) Mark: "Alex, it’s you? Where did you come from?" The surprise was successful. Mark was speechless. His best friend had moved away two years ago, and they hadn’t seen each other at all in that time. A young girl in Israel got a totally unexpected visitor. Without an appointment. Suddenly he stood in front of her: an angel! This is how God is. He comes suddenly. When no one expects Him. Mary was shocked. Angel: "Don’t be afraid, Mary. God loves you." God comes and talks to us. And He does that today also. He speaks to us through His Word, the Bible. Sometimes He speaks through miracles or other people as well. At the time when there was no Bible, He often spoke in dreams or sent angels to people. Angel: "Mary, God is with you. You are going to have a baby boy. You will give Him the name Jesus." Mary: "How is that possible? I’m not married and don’t have a husband." Angel: "God will do a miracle in you. The Holy Spirit will come upon you and overshadow you. For that reason your son will be called the Son of God." Mary: "I will serve God. Be it done to me according to your word." The miracle happened. In a stable in Bethlehem the Son of God was born. In Jesus God came into our world. God came to us so that we could come to Him. I’ve often celebrated Christmas, but this miracle continues to amaze me. The great God became a man and came to us. Through Jesus, God came near to us, so close that people could see and touch him. This made the shepherds so happy back then. God comes to us, and in Jesus He can also come to you. Would you like to invite Him into your life? You can do this by praying, perhaps like this: Mark: "Lord Jesus, please come into my life. I open the door of my heart to you. I want to belong to you forever. Thank You for Your great love for me." God comes to you so that you can come to Him. People: Narrator, Mark, angel, Mary © Copyright: CEF Germany |
