Plays for children to perform
4. Whoever prays experiences miraclesThe streets were dusty, the sun burned hot in the sky. And again the beggar sat on the side of the road. Every time that he heard footsteps, he stretched out his hand. Bartimaeus: "Help me! Give me money." Some people felt sorry for Bartimaeus, others overlooked him. One day it seemed as if everyone in the city of Jericho was on the street. Bartimaeus: "What’s going on?" Man: "Jesus, the Son of God, is coming down this road, the One who loves everyone, heals the sick, and can even raise the dead." Blind Bartimaeus became hopeful. Would Jesus hear him calling out? With all of his heart he called out to the One he could not see: Bartimaeus: "Jesus, won’t you help me!? Have mercy on me!" Some of those who heard him got upset and scolded the blind man. Man: "Hold your tongue and get lost, otherwise…" Is it forbidden to call on Jesus? No! Bartimaeus didn’t listen to the people; instead he called out even louder: Bartimaeus: "Lord Jesus, please help me!" Jesus hears everyone. He hears your prayer, too. The Bible says that Jesus stopped and commanded: Jesus: "Bring the blind man to me." And then Bartimaeus stood in front of the Son of God. He didn’t see him, but he felt calm and secure in His presence. He heard Jesus’ friendly voice. Jesus: "Bartimaeus, what do you want from me? What do you want me to do for you?" Bartimaeus didn’t have to think about it for long. His greatest need became his prayer: Bartimaeus: "Lord, I wish to be able to see again." Jesus heard his wish. Jesus: "Receive sight! Because you believe in me, I will heal you." At that very moment Bartimaeus could see completely. His eyes saw the One who heard his prayer and answered his cry. Overjoyed, he thanked Jesus and from then on, followed Jesus wholeheartedly. In the Bible God says to you: "Call to me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me."
