10. Christmas quiz

Today we have the promised Christmas quiz.

Speaker (a child): "I hope I know all the answers!"

I hope so, too!

Christmas is a birthday celebration – the birthday of the Lord Jesus. Every year people celebrate His birthday all over the world. I do, too. I’m so happy that the Savior of the world was born.

When Jesus was born 2000 years ago, an angel came in the middle of the night. "Do not be afraid!" the angel said to the shepherds who were watching their sheep. "I have good news. Rejoice! The Savior is born to you in the town of David; He is the Messiah, Jesus Christ, the Lord. You’ll find the baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

Suddenly a great many angels appeared who said, "Glory to God! The Savior is born!"

God loves people very much, and He loves you so much, too!

Now we’ll start with the Christmas quiz. Are you ready? I’ll give two answers to every question, but only one is correct. Write down the correct answer. Here we go!

1. Where was Jesus born? In Bethlehem or in Cairo?

2. What is Jesus’ mother’s name? Sarah or Mary?

3. What work did Joseph do? Electrician or carpenter?

4. To whom did the angels tell that the Savior of the world was born? The shepherds or Herod?

You can send us your answers per email. Or if you write to me, remember to include your return address as well as your age, and you’ll receive an answer.

Speaker (a child): "Fun! I’ll do it right away!"

My advice to you: if you have a Bible, read Luke chapter 2 where you’ll find the story of Jesus’ birthday and there you’ll find the right answers.
